Winner artwork for Debian
BACKGROUND

Debian (/ˈdɛbiən/)[4] is a free and open source[b] Linux distribution, developed by the Debian Project, which was established by Ian Murdock in August 1993. Debian is one of the oldest operating systems based on the Linux kernel, and is the basis of many other Linux distributions. More than a thousand active developers contribute to Debian around the world, who volunteer in their spare time, who maintain this reliable and stable operating system, allowing it to be used by different institutions, non-profits, government initiatives and private businesses like Google, Microsoft, and Android. It's literally everywhere, even at the International Space Station!

This vast community of volunteers advances software systems for different industries including the design industry, they improve free software like INKSCAPE, GIMP and BLENDER which are incredible alternatives for Adobe's high-priced software packages. As I value the work of non-profits and community based organizations, I decided to volunteer to this project and bring my creative eye to design logos, wallpapers and even their whole website user experience.
RESULTS
This page will show different creative assets that I will create throughout the years, they can be the winner logos that I've designed for DebConf (Debian Conferences) competition around the world, it can be winner wallpaper for a new Debian release or any other contribution that I make for the community, like event presentations or designing a whole new website for them, something that I am working on right now.
The website revamp project it's a deep re-structuring of all the web content, and it allows me to apply complex design concepts like information architecture, creating a cohesive hierarchy and a consistent flow within the content and the pages. The current Debian.org website is a 30 years contribution from volunteers from different countries, they've always created new pages instead of working on old ones, this way we have several pages for the same topics, users trying to know about the project get confused and finding information is very hard because they don't know UX best practices.
