Informative graphics for Mothers Matter Canada
BACKGROUND
Mothers Matter Canada is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, BC, since 2001. They are a virtual, national consortium of organizations dedicated to serving socially isolated and low economic status mothers and their families in Canada. Their impact span over 60,000 lives with new skills and abilities to strengthening mother-child relationships. Their programs are designed to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty, low literacy, and social isolation.
Project duration:
2 months
My role:
Designer of 8 informative papers from conception to final delivery.
PROCESS
Content research was done by Kindred Purpose Consultants and their diverse team, including the CEO Doaa Hussein and its research associates Misha Sethi, Aden Solomon, Ahmad Naveed, and Samayaa Seepaul. I designed the graphics based on their process and feedback, as well as client reviews.
The strategy included the creation of a front page as a checklist, and 8 double-faced informative papers about the specific themes:
1 - Education and Childcare,
2 - Healthcare,
3 - Housing,
4 - Employment and Skills Development,
5 - Financial Literacy,
6 - Rights and Freedoms,
7 - Get to Know Your Community, and
8 - Indigenous Peoples and Reconciliation.
RESULTS
The designed informative graphics were very well received by the client and involved community. Based on the brand guidelines color palette, fonts and imagery, the resulted design is a dense paper with important clusters of information placed in a clean and visually engaging layout. From the main objective to assist isolated mothers that recently arrived in Canada, this project was a success as it provided a condensed and targeted source of guidance on the main aspects of life in this country.
Designed to be versatile, these informative papers can be shared as a one brochure with all 8 resources combined, or as standalone pages, that can be shared in digital or printed to help solve specific issues with Mothers across Canada.
